I've started on contract with UFV as an AI researcher!
I'm still working out exactly what I'll be digging into, but it will be in the realm of exploring small group conversations to predict performance/efficiency in a specific task. From what I've seen so far, there's a lot to be done in the field, and I'm excited to find my own piece of research to carve out.
Anticipated Challenges permalink
As with any new job, there are a few things I expect to work through while getting into the swing of things.
- Familiarizing with the problem space: This is my first real foray into the world of academic research in AI, with that in mind I assume that I'll have quite a bit to learn in the space.
- Using Python: Most AI research tools are in Python- Being that the majority of my programming experience is in webdev land (mostly HTML, CSS, and JS/Node.js) I assume there will be a lot to learn here as well.
As I said, I'm looking forward to seeing where this takes me. I'll probably post occasionally about the work I'm doing here as well!
